LeGrand B. Pratt was born 11 Aug 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah, being the sixth of Parker and Katie Pratt's fifteen children. Lee attended Granite High School where he was on the swimming team and in the state championships of springboard diving. He then worked as a life guard at Saltair, the big resort at Great Salt Lake. He then moved back to Washington, D.C., where his brother Elmer lived and had several jobs, including being a cab driver. He married Virginia Brengleman and they lived in Huntington Beach, Calif., where he worked at Western Electric Co. He then served in the Navy from Dec. 1943 to July 1945, after which he returned to work there. Virginia passed away in 1947 before having any children. In 1950 he began work at Associated Telephone in Long Beach. Then moved back to Utah where he met and married Kathryn Worsley. There he worked at Mountain Bell Telephone until he retired in 1976 after forty years of service to American Telephone and Telegraph (includes Western Electric).

Lee had a very quiet personality, in contrast to his effervescent wife Kathryn. He was loved by all, and had a great sense of humor. He was physically very strong. He and Kay lived in Salt Lake City all of their married lives, raising two children Jim and John. He passed away on 30 May 1984.
