The Home of Jehu Cox.

The first house built in Little Cottonwood, 1849. The front porch was added after the Cox family moved to Sanpete in 1859. Silas Richards was the first Bishop and School teacher, arrived Nov. 4, 1849. Jehu Cox arrived in April 1849. Jehu Cox gave the community the use of the ten acres to build a fort on condition the fort would be built around the building. Jehu's last two children were born in this home. Five of his children were married while living there. This photo was taken May 22, 1955 exactly 106 years after it was built. The Cox home was used for all church services. There is a monument to visit with your children. Union was suggested to emphasize the unity among the Saints. Isaiah Cox
